Redfern City Terrace House

Redfern City Terrace House

Set within the inner city, this Redfern terrace house was styled as a calm counterbalance to its surroundings. A home that feels quiet, considered and easy to live in, despite the pace just outside.

Our role focused on design, decoration, furnishing and styling, working with the existing architecture to bring warmth, texture and cohesion throughout the home. Rather than changing the structure, the approach was about refinement. Building on what was already there and layering in pieces that soften, balance and elevate the space.

The living, dining and kitchen areas were treated as one connected zone. A custom banquette anchors the dining space, paired with soft upholstery and timber to create a relaxed, tactile feel. The circular dining table was chosen to soften the lines of the room and improve flow, while woven lighting introduces a subtle, organic layer overhead.

Throughout the family home, furniture and styling were selected to feel effortless but intentional. A restrained palette, natural materials and considered textures create continuity from room to room without feeling repetitive.

In the bedrooms, the focus shifts to comfort and calm. Soft linens, muted tones and layered textiles bring a sense of ease, while existing joinery is complemented with simple, well-balanced styling that enhances rather than competes.

Natural light plays a key role across the home, and the styling was designed to work with it. Sheer layers, tonal finishes and low-profile furniture allow light to move freely, keeping spaces feeling open and settled throughout the day.

The result is a home that feels cohesive and liveable. Elevated through thoughtful furnishing and styling, without overcomplicating what was already working.

This project reflects our approach to styling inner-city homes. Working with what’s there, refining it, and creating spaces that feel calm, balanced and genuinely lived in.
